Fall Into School

The 4th grade adventure as started. The students are reading, The Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing, the students can definitely relate to this book. In math, it is geometry. The students are learning about shapes, lines, line segments, rays, and other geometry terms. The students will be assessed this week on their knowledge of geometry. In social studies, the students have put together an IMovie on landfills. They had fun learning how to do the movie. Besides having fun, they did learn about landfills. Ask them what they know?

Hi,  the school year is coming to a close and so is our projects.  I have several pod-casts to listen to that the students have done.  Maddie Weber did a pod-cast on the Ice Man, which we covered in Social Studies.  The Ms. Price's class redid fairy tales and they will be posted.  Have a great summer and I will see you next year.

The students are preparing to read the book, Just Juice, by Karen Hesse. The slide show is an introduction to the book and where the story takes place.  The students will be learning about the people of the Appalachian Mountains, illiteracy, and family ties. After the students view the slide show, it will be on the blog.  I hope that you watch it.  You may learn things that you didn't know about the Appalachian Mountains.

The 6th grade students have been learning about National Parks through the mini page in the Jacksonville Courier. The paper had black and white pictures, so a slideshow of the parks were created, so the students could get a better view of the National Parks. The students are now going to create a brochure for a National Park that they researched.

Hi, My name is Mrs. Kelli Schnelt and I am returning to the North Greene School District. I taught in this district several years ago before going to teach at St. John's School in Carrollton. I taught there for fourteen years and now I am back home to teach. I grew up in White Hall where my parents and some siblings still reside.

As I mentioned, I grew up in White Hall and graduated from North Greene High School and attended Mac Murray College in Jacksonville. After graduating, I worked at Head Start, North Greene, St. Johns, and now returning back to North Greene where I am teaching in the field of Special Education. I returned to school this summer to get my endorsement in Special Education.
For the next two summers, I will be working on completing my Master's Degree in Special Education.

I reside in Carrollton with my husband, Tom and my daughter, Paris age 4, and my son, Trenton age 1. My family keeps me very busy but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I am very excited to be here teaching this year. I am looking forward to a great year.
